Sum...Sum...Summertime, Week 5

When I look back over the week, I realize how thankful I am for people who pick up my slack when life gets a little hectic.  Let's face it, we all need a little help sometime and we have to be willing to ask for it or accept it when it is offered.  As we are in the process of prepping a house to sell, we'll take all the help we can get!

The help all started when I had to pick up Cory from the airport late Saturday night.  My mom helped by staying with the kids so I didn't have to get them out so late.  She also helped by coming to church with me on Sunday, so Cory could order us a new working dryer.  The fact that we were "twinning" was an added bonus ;)

Next, my sweet friend, Nicole, helped by letting our E-man play at her house for the afternoon.  Later that evening we picked him up and joined our family group for some fun at the splash park.

On Monday, my mom headed home, but she helped out by taking Landry to stay with her for a few days.  She had a ball, spending time with cousins she doesn't get to see too often.  They spent the week crafting, treasure hunting, and having tea parties

On Tuesday, my amazing friend, KB, helped by watching our two boys (AND drying a load of towels for us) while Cory and I ran a few errands.

And on Wednesday, Cory helped out by returning the favor and watching KB's kids so she and I could go to Brunch!

Afterward, all our boys helped load the truck with items to go to our storage unit.  And the dolly helped provide us with cheap entertainment for our boys.

On Wednesday afternoon, we had to bring Cory back to the airport. And then I got to have a little fun on the softball field.

The boys helped, by cheering us on to victory, and then convincing me that we needed to go out for ice cream to celebrate!

On Thursday, the boys and I spent some time swimming, and then they helped me do a little grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning. Coopy convinced me to cook one of his faves, corn on the cob

Friday Fun Day should have been renamed Mrs. Francine's Friday Fun Day!  She helped by letting my boys go to her house while we had someone doing some sheetrock work.  This allowed me to paint and purge a couple of rooms in peace!

I felt a little guilty for not planning anything special, like I normally do. But, thankfully Mrs. Francine has lots of awesome kids to play with, so my kids never get bored at her house!  And judging by the videos she sent, there was plenty of fun being had! As a matter of fact, I got word that Cooper even exchanged "friendship rings" with one of her daughters.  They're betrothed! LOL  Here are a couple of the videos I received

PawPaw and GiGi helped us end our week with a bang! We arrived at their house, on Saturday with plenty of time pick blueberries, make muffins, eat watermelon, and try our hand at treasure hunting.

Perhaps our most interesting find was the fact that the metal detector detected the screws and plates in my face! LOL

Week Five: That's a wrap
I could have never accomplished it all without HELP!!!!

Sum...Sum...Summertime, Week 3

If it's possible, week 3 went even faster than week 2.  That's because it was  CAMP WEEEEEEEK!!!! Y'all, I love everything about camp week.  Cory was a youth pastor for years, and I always joked that being a youth pastor's wife was a good excuse for me to go to camp even as a "grown up"  Admittedly, kids' camp requires a bit more energy and responsibility than youth camp.  But I am always up for a good challenge!  Having the opportunity to attend the camp with my own daughter is icing on the cake! The week did not disappoint!  Relationships were formed, hearts were opened and God moved in incredible ways.  He always does.  Here are some of my favorite photos from the week.  While Landry and I were "roughing it" at camp, the boys were "living it up" at Nana and Poppy's.   Jet Skis and Tigers and Excavators, Oh My!! Thank you, Nana And Poppy, for t...

New Year, New Blog

I love the start of a new year!  There is nothing magical about the year changing from 2017 to 2018, but it always feels like we are embarking on something bigger and better than the year before.  My blogging, last year, sort of reflected my disposition....a little weak and weary.  Not to sound melodramatic or anything, it's just that 2017 was tough.  Tougher than any other year I can remember in the thirty-five I've had.  However, as my family and I sat around the kitchen table, looking at pictures and talking about our most memorable moments of 2017, I could see God's fingerprints everywhere!!  He never fails us!  And I have a feeling the things He taught us last year, will be what makes this year one of the best ones yet! Speaking of memorable moments, here are ours from 2017: We started the year with a bang, Daddy was in the hospital on day ONE and stayed for FOUR more days...  We got home just in time to have a birthday party for La...
