If it's possible, week 3 went even faster than week 2. That's because it was
CAMP WEEEEEEEK!!!!
Y'all, I love everything about camp week. Cory was a youth pastor for years, and I always joked that being a youth pastor's wife was a good excuse for me to go to camp even as a "grown up" Admittedly, kids' camp requires a bit more energy and responsibility than youth camp. But I am always up for a good challenge! Having the opportunity to attend the camp with my own daughter is icing on the cake!
The week did not disappoint! Relationships were formed, hearts were opened and God moved in incredible ways. He always does.
Here are some of my favorite photos from the week.
While Landry and I were "roughing it" at camp, the boys were "living it up" at Nana and Poppy's.
Jet Skis and Tigers and Excavators, Oh My!!
Thank you, Nana And Poppy, for taking care of our boys and showing them such a great time!!
On Thursday Night, our whole family was reunited just in time to rest up for Friday Fun Day!
I planned our day, in advance, since I knew I'd be out of pocket all week.
It just so happens that Incredibles 2 was scheduled to release Friday, June 15. And since we are practically the Incredibles ourselves...
...We simply HAD to see the movie on opening day!
Our favorite character was Jack Jack!
Can we take a moment to reminisce about how perfectly Cooper played that role,
4 1/2 years ago??
Now, if he turns himself into a giant fireball, we might have problems. ;)
In addition to the Incredibles Movie, we also started our Where's Waldo Game. I mentioned it in my last post, but I kind of left you hanging.
I came up with a fun idea to help us learn about other states and countries and their cultures. Each week, one kid will spin the globe and stop it with his or her finger. Wherever their finger lands is where we put "Waldo" Then, later that week that child will help me prepare a meal specific to that region. I decided to let Cooper go first since he is the youngest.
As you can see, Waldo landed in LIBYA. But, the strangest thing happened as I was leaving to get ingredients for our Libyan feast. I glanced at the globe and noticed Waldo had moved to TEXAS.
Now, I'm not one to argue with Waldo. After all, he IS a world traveler. So I went out to the grocery store and bought everything we needed for a Rootin' Tootin' Texas Style Supper instead!
The Menu Included: Steak, Hamburgers, Texas Toast, and of course Blue Bell Ice Cream!
We played country music and share interesting facts about Texas. Then we played a little game with clue cards. All the cards contained things you find in Texas:
Did you catch that???
That's Right! We're moving to TEXAS!!!
As you may have noticed, I shut down the camera quickly because there were some mixed emotions. But we are so thankful for Cory's new job opportunity that will give him more time with us, and excited to see what God has in store for us in this new season and place!
We hope to spend time with each of our Mandevillians, before we make the big move at the end of the summer. Pray for us as we make all the necessary preparations for a move out of state. <3
