Epic Eve

When it comes to New Year's Eve, there are two classes of people: Those who go out and those who stay in.  I am definitely part of the "STAY IN TEAM". It's not that I don't like dressing up or being with people or having a good time.  I'm not typically a hermit. It's just that I HATE being cold!  I'm serious.  The very thought of putting on a gold sparkly dress and heels in temperatures below 50, sends a chill down my spine.  I just. can't. do. it.  So, instead I put on my favorite fleece footsies and party hard with my kiddos, at home.  It's pure bliss, I tell you.

This year, I allowed Lan to invite her bestie to celebrate with us.  So the five of us all stocked up on supplies from Dollar Tree and then headed home to get the party started.  I saw an idea on Pinterest a while ago, and decided it was the perfect night to pull it out of the archives. I blew up seven balloons and labeled them each with a different time. I taped the balloons to the mantle, and at the appropriate times, we popped the balloons to reveal a strip of paper naming the activity in which we would participate.
Here is a rundown of the night:
5:30 - Pancake Dinner
6:30 - Decorate Party Hats and "Sparkling Grape Juice Glasses"

7:30 - Pie Face!!

8:30 - Ice Cream Sundaes

9:30 - Minute to Win It Games and Silly String War

10:30 - Karaoke

11:30 - Glow Stick Dance Party
And then, finally, the moment we had all been waiting for (or at least Mama had been waiting for, so I could finally put these little people to bed)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Epic.

Sum...Sum...Summertime, Week 3

If it's possible, week 3 went even faster than week 2.  That's because it was  CAMP WEEEEEEEK!!!! Y'all, I love everything about camp week.  Cory was a youth pastor for years, and I always joked that being a youth pastor's wife was a good excuse for me to go to camp even as a "grown up"  Admittedly, kids' camp requires a bit more energy and responsibility than youth camp.  But I am always up for a good challenge!  Having the opportunity to attend the camp with my own daughter is icing on the cake! The week did not disappoint!  Relationships were formed, hearts were opened and God moved in incredible ways.  He always does.  Here are some of my favorite photos from the week.  While Landry and I were "roughing it" at camp, the boys were "living it up" at Nana and Poppy's.   Jet Skis and Tigers and Excavators, Oh My!! Thank you, Nana And Poppy, for t...

New Year, New Blog

I love the start of a new year!  There is nothing magical about the year changing from 2017 to 2018, but it always feels like we are embarking on something bigger and better than the year before.  My blogging, last year, sort of reflected my disposition....a little weak and weary.  Not to sound melodramatic or anything, it's just that 2017 was tough.  Tougher than any other year I can remember in the thirty-five I've had.  However, as my family and I sat around the kitchen table, looking at pictures and talking about our most memorable moments of 2017, I could see God's fingerprints everywhere!!  He never fails us!  And I have a feeling the things He taught us last year, will be what makes this year one of the best ones yet! Speaking of memorable moments, here are ours from 2017: We started the year with a bang, Daddy was in the hospital on day ONE and stayed for FOUR more days...  We got home just in time to have a birthday party for La...

Sum...Sum...Summertime, Week 5

When I look back over the week, I realize how thankful I am for people who pick up my slack when life gets a little hectic.  Let's face it, we all need a little help sometime and we have to be willing to ask for it or accept it when it is offered.  As we are in the process of prepping a house to sell, we'll take all the help we can get! The help all started when I had to pick up Cory from the airport late Saturday night.  My mom helped by staying with the kids so I didn't have to get them out so late.  She also helped by coming to church with me on Sunday, so Cory could order us a new working dryer.  The fact that we were "twinning" was an added bonus ;) Next, my sweet friend, Nicole, helped by letting our E-man play at her house for the afternoon.  Later that evening we picked him up and joined our family group for some fun at the splash park. On Monday, my mom headed home, but she helped out by taking Landry to stay with her for ...
